Deaf and Non-Deaf Children Learn how to Cook Arabic Food

Organizing a cooking class for the deaf children attending classes at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Sofia was a brilliant idea of Freddy! He goes to this church quite often and invited us to make something unforgettable for the children there. Together with Father Metodi and children’s teacher and gesture translator Silvana we managed to organize the class for a mixed group of deaf and non-deaf children on 4 June 2017. Freddy taught the children how to make 5 different Middle Eastern and with lots of smiles and emotions they shared their culinary masterpieces with their families and close ones! Thank you Freddy!

Important: You can also support such an event! Register for the new 1000 km Balkan Charity Challenge duathlon here – https://1000balkan.com/registration.html

Our Multi Kulti Children’s Programme is running for a second year. It aims at bringing together Bulgarian and migrant/refugee children in order to overcome social barriers while participating in cultural, educational and sport events. Children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18 have the opportunity to get to know each other in a safe informal environment, to increase their knowledge and improve their skills, to have fun and create common memories and friendships. The Programme has been actively supporting the two-way integration and building bridges between different cultures thus enabling children to live in a community free from prejudice, discrimination and xenophobia.

In 2017, the Multi Kulti Children’s Programme is supported by 1000 km Balkan Charity Challenge, TELUS International Europe and private donations. Thank you!
