Cultural managers (CMs) iface a whole set of challenges that in many cases result in burnout. The capacity building opportunities for them are quite limited and those are mainly in the field of professional skill development and not personal development. The project Cultural Managers’ Re-Creation Camp: Remedy against Burnout proposes a solution that will result in more capable, balanced, creative and happy CMs – the Re-Creation Camp. It is a 4-full days + 2 travel days retreat that would offer a safe space for reflection, peer learning, analysis, testing new methods for better work-life balance for small groups of CMs from all around Europe and beyond.

Now we have an open call for participants from the second edition in July 2019:
WHAT: 4 full days of wellness and creative workshops, safe space for reflection, sharing and healing, peer learning, mindfulness practices, light sport activities and relaxation designed for cultural managers and arts / cultural professionals who have experienced a burnout, exhaustion, permanent tiredness
WHEN: 8 – 13 July 2019 (8th and 13th are travel days)
WHERE: MAKAK Bed and Breakfast, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria
PARTICIPATION FEE: 230 EUR. Early bird until 31 March 195 EUR
DEADLINE: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis but no later than 31 May 2019.

– For the first camp (January 2018 – January 2019) the partnership included Multi Kulti Collective (BG) – leading partner, Creators Association (BG), Fabrica de Pensule (RO), Asociația ARTA în dialog (RO), Sigma Development (RO).
– For the second camp (February 2019 – currently) the partnership includes Multi Kulti Collective (BG), MAKAK Bed and Breakfast (BG), Asociația ARTA în dialog (RO).
– The first camp (January 2018 – January 2019) was co-financed by Goethe-Institut and the Cultural Management Academy Sofia, Bucharest and Thessaloniki Fund.
– The second camp (February 2019 – currenty) has no external funding and it’s made possible due to the warm hospitality of MAKAK Bed and Breakfast (BG). Thank you!
