Within the project “National Media Campaign: Cuisine against Xenophobia” Multi Kulti is organizing a training for media professionals on “Covering the topic of refugees and migrants”, which will be held on March 10 at 14:00 h in hall 61 of the Faculty for Journalism and Mass Communications in Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski “(Sofia, 49 Moskovska str.).
What are the problems and the most common mistakes, what are the standards in the coverage of topics related to refugees and migrants – this is what we are going to discuss with Boris Cheshirkov from the The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Maria Cheresheva from the Association of European Journalists – Bulgaria (AEJ-Bulgaria) and Ehlibeyte Mehmetay from the Council of Refugee Women in Bulgaria. There’s also going to be a role playing game.
The training is intended for journalists from print, electronic and online media, as well as journalism students.
During the event there will also be tasting of authentic foreign food.
