On 1 March 2018, Multi Kulti organized a group visit to the exhibition Germany – A Country of Discoverers. 16 refugee students from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan as well as their Bulgarian peers, including from the Roma community, from 66 School in Sofia enjoyed the exhibition organized by Goethe Institute Bulgaria.
The exhibition focuses on world-famous German discoveries in the natural sciences in the fields of informatics, energy, mobility, communication, medicine, optics and materials. There are five or six objects for each area that are explained and illustrated by pictures and texts. Interactive elements invite us for active participation. Movies and listening stations complement the exposition. The focus is on both historical discoveries and future-oriented innovations. The hosts from the Goethe Institute welcomed the student group and showed them around with an interesting quiz and rally in Bulgarian and German.

Our Multi Kulti Children’s Programme is running for a third year. It aims at bringing together Bulgarian and migrant/refugee children in order to overcome social barriers while participating in cultural, educational and sport events. Children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18 have the opportunity to get to know each other in a safe informal environment, to increase their knowledge and improve their skills, to have fun and create common memories and friendships. The Programme has been actively supporting the two-way integration and building bridges between different cultures thus enabling children to live in a community free from prejudice, discrimination and xenophobia.
