Inspired by the #BeTheChange Workshop held in Sofia, two of the participants – Evelina Milenova and Desislava Simova, organized a a Martenitsa workshop for traditional Bulgarian bracelets in white in red, which are a vital part of the way Balkan nations welcome spring. It was held in CushBar in Sofia on 17 February 2018. Thanks to the initiative the organizers gave over 60 people from almost 10 countries not only the opportunity to learn about this tradition but also play an active part in it. Their feedback was extremely positive and some of the participants even voiced their wish to keep making martenitsas after the event. To finish off, the organizers chose three winners who had produced the most unique or most original martenitsas.
